EDI Career Advisor
Kyle is excited to help you explore career options, decide on a university program, and learn how to develop the skills for obtaining fulfilling employment. His focus is to share opportunities, programs, and supports for students and alumni from equity-deserving groups. Connect with Kyle to discuss your career questions and learn more about why EDI is part of the conversation. In addition to his passion for implementing accessible and inclusive practices, Kyle brings an M.Ed in Leadership studies, a B.A. double major in Political Science and Economics, and professional experiences in marketing, event planning, and career development.
Co-op Coordinator Accessibility and Inclusion
Niels’ focus is to help students that identify as having a disability and/or mental health challenges find meaningful and paid work experience while completing their education program. Connect with Niels to discuss how you can navigate your personal situation, learn if and how to request workplace accommodations and find out why accessibility is part of the conversation. Niels coordinates the development and administration of the accessible Work Experience program, CanWork . In addition, he brings a Bachelor Degree in Applied Social Sciences with a focus on disability studies, and over ten years of accessibility services in Belgium and Canada.
EDI Employment Development Officer
Claire works with Co-op + Career staff and employers to develop and generate employment opportunities with a particular focus on job postings for CanWork, the accessible Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program and for equity deserving students across all University of Victoria co-op programs who face barriers to employment. Additionally, Claire curates an inventory of EDI focused resources for employers, staff and students.
